There's no place like home...

i am finally home from italy, and after wanting to come home so bad, i have found myself wishing i was back in italy. ironic isn't it? italy was a blast to say the least and i had the time of my life, but here are the things i am thankful for since being home...

1. Clean Clothes (most importantly, having a dryer)
2. American food (give me some Dr. Pepper and a burger and fries)
3. American language (people actually understand what i am saying!)
4. Dollars (instead of Euros)
5. Walking outside and not having it smell like crap (or seeing dog poop on the sidewalks everywhere... EWWW)
6. Being able to drive (and driving between the lines and at the speed limit)
7. Sleeping in my own bed
8. Cooler weather (compared to 95 degrees and 100% humidity)
9. Being in the same time zone as my family and friends (and of course Zach) ;)
10. Not having to travel all the time (no more trains or public transportation!)
11. No more bug bites!

Things i miss from italy...
1. one word... GELATO
2. being able to walk everywhere
3. the buildings and architecture
4. Cappucino for 1 Euro
5. Seing the sights and experiencing the different culture

i heart zachary

so this is for zachary since he claimed that i haven't put anything on my blog about him yet. so zachary is my boyfriend, and we've been dating for almost 11 months. We met at camp last summer and have been inseparable since... well, except that he goes to school in Seattle at UW and i go to school in Spokane at Gonzaga. Long distance wasn't so hard for us, but it was sure nice when we did see eachother ;) this summer has been hard since i have been in italy for the past 7 weeks, but it will be so nice to be home and see him again! i can't wait! and let's just say we will be making up for lost time. ;) i love you zachary!

Ciao Ciao!

Ciao from italy! i've traveled so much in the past two months that i am definitely ready to head home and take a break. On May 10th, i left for Italy and have since been traveling around learning, exploring, and just plain having fun. here is where i have been... Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre, Venice, Siena, Lucca, Pisa, Capri, Sorrento, and Pompei (all in Italy) and then Munich, Germany (which was one of my favorite places). All i can say, is that i've had the experience of a life time and i am so lucky to have been able to come over here. Besides the bummer of having to take two classes (i have both finals tomorrow actually - good thing i'm studying) this trip has been a blast. I've eaten a TON (literally) of Gelato (which is pretty much heaven in the form of ice cream), seen almost every church in italy (actually probably not, because there is one on every corner) and drank more wine than i porbably ever will (and legally too, might i add). Everything is so beautiful over here and amazing. For those of you who want to hear more about my trip i have a separate blog with all the good pictures and stories... the link is megsitaly.blogspot.com. but i have to say, i can't wait to be home!
