chasing cars

chasing cars by snow patrol

we'll do it all everything, on our own
we don't need anything, or anyone
if i just lay here, if i just lay here
would you lie with me
and just forget the world
i don't quite know how to say how i feel
those three words are said too much
they're not enough
if i lay here, if i just lay here
would you lie with me
and just forget the world
forget what you're told
before we get too old
show me a garden
that's bursting into life
let's waste time chasing cars
around our heads
i need your grace to remind me
to find my own
if i lay here, if i just lay here
would you lie with me
and just forget the world
forget what you're told
before we get too old
show me a garden
that's bursting into life
all that i am, all that i ever was
is here in your perfect eyes
they're all i can see, i don't know where
confused about how as well
just know that these things will never
change for us at all

i'm just a working girl...

so today was probably the most stressful day of work i have had so far. this was the first time i have felt overwhelmed with everything i have had to do. it feels like i am being pulled in a million directions all at once. everyone wants you to do something for them... right now. i don't have eight arms! it is good to stay busy though. and i am getting more projects with more responsibility and more importance. so that is cool. i feel like an actual grown up for one of the first times too. it's great to be done with work at 5 and have no homework, but at the same time, when work is stressful, you tend to take some of that stress home with you. in other exciting news... i got the keys to my new house today! yay! so exciting! i'm slowly but surely moving my stuff in, since i have to stay at brenna's to house sit until sunday night. i can't wait til i'm all moved in and settled and don't have to move again for a while! (at least another year). anyways... here's to being a "grown up."

life... in general.

so it's been a while. i guess i got into the whole myspace thing. so i'm staying in spokane for the summer. got an internship. got a house. got some friends over here. life is good. i get to move into my house tomorrow actually... fun times. it's only like the third time i've moved in the past month... ah, life as a nomad. the boyfriend is good... as usual. it's hard doing the long distance thing, but it will be worth it in the end. just have to get through it. hopefully i will be living in seattle next year at this time. my brother graduated. which is awesome for him, weird for me, and my mom is probably freaking out. but, you know, life goes on... it always does. i'm watching "so you think you can dance?" right now. it is pretty much the greatest show on right now. i love it. you should all watch it if you get the chance, becasue these people are amazing dancers! well, i need to get ready to go out on the town... one of many appearances i will be making at the bars this summer. ah, to be 21.

My brother... the Stud

So my brother is a senior in high school this year. BMOC... Big Man On Campus that is. He is the quarterback of the football team, Homecoming prince, and just an all around awesome guy. I am so proud of him and just had to brag a little bit but here are some pictures...

i'm going crazy

so school has started back up again and junior is supposed to be the hardest... so i'm starting up thinking "this isn't so bad" and then the stress comes... yeah i should have expected it. being an accounting major is great in a lot of ways, but super stressful. i have to get an internship for next summer which pretty much means i need to schmooze all the companies that come and visit school this semester, which i am not good at at all. i hate small talk so much! it is the worst, and so awkward. i hate the first few conversations with people when you are just getting to know them. i never know what to say. so this is a big challenge for me this year. i guess i will just have to get out of my element and do what i have to do. but that doesn't mean that i can't complain about it. (i'm sorry for those of you that are reading this) anyways, school is going ok. i have my own apartamento with my roommate from freshman year, my roommate from last year and one of my other friends. i still share a room, but there is a lot of space, so it's no problem. the only bummer is that i am away from zach. =( but i get to see him tomorrow, so that is exciting! yay for zach. that's all for now.

wait, um yeah, i just barfed in my mouth a little...

Zach and i had our one year anniversary on August 4th. We don't really know when we started dating so we just kind of picked that day to celebrate and be our "official" day. we went to wild waves/enchanted village for the day and waited in line for ours in the 90 degree weather to go on the waterslides and rollercoasters. but it was fun hanging out and almost getting sick from the rides! then after changing in the car and getting all primped and pretty, we headed down to seattle for dinner at McKormick and Schmidt's seafood restaurant. it was very romantic and nice. we both decided that zach would order for me whenever we went out anymore because he always orders the best food and i need to "expand my horizons" since my horizons right now include mexican and italian food. but the past year has been so amazing and i am so thankful for having zach in my life. he is such and awesome guy (this is where the barfing comes in) i just hope that we have many more years to share!

a day at the zoo

Since i haven't been to the zoo since about 7th grade i thought it would be fun to go with Zach one day, so i did. We went to Seattle for the day and walked around Pike's Place Market, then went to the Woodland Park Zoo and saw all the animals. It was an awesome day and we had fun looking at all the animals and hanging out. here are some pictures...

stupid people

so i am at home for the summer... yeah, it is grand seeing the family when they are here (my parents are currently on a 10 hawaiian cruise, and my brother leaves for camp tomorrow) but it seems like all i do is work work work. and where do i work you might ask? well, good old safeway of course! ah yes, safeway, where "nobody does it better" and where you can get "ingredients for life" whatever the hell that means. i mean, what are the ingredients for life? does anyone really know? apparently safeway does. so i work as a checker about 30 or so hours a week. and let me tell you, it is so much fun!!! (that was sarcastic for those of you who don't know me. pretty much i stand in the same spot all day long swiping the groceries and listening to the little "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" "BEEP" i could go on you know. for hours because that is what i go through everyday! and on top of that, i have to deal with customers, stupid customers. people that get mad at the card machine when if they would just stop and read the stupid directions they would know what to do and get it done in half the time. but no, they have to get all huffed up and almost punch the machine with the stupid "magic pen" and then get mad at me because THEY didn't do it right. grrrrrrrrrrr. and then there are the people that go through on their cell phones, which is TOTALLY rude in my book. can't you just call whoever you are talking to back in like 2 minutes????? unless a relative is dying and those will be your last words to them before they die (which you probably shouldn't be at safeway anyways at that time) then you can call them back. come on people! then there are the people that get all mad at the price of the item because THEY read the tag wrong. just slow down and open your eyes people. it's not that hard. anyways, that is my venting for know. but i have to say, getting my first paycheck in like 3 months yesterday sure was nice. so i guess i can put up with stupid people for now.

Streaking

well, i finally conformed and dyed my hair. yes, i know, but that's what happens when you have a friend that is a hair stylist. Bethany goes to Gene Juarez Beauty Academy and is really good at cutting hair and all that fun stuff. Her hair changes color and styles every week, mine however had not changed for over a year, so i was due for a visit to the salon. So i conformed and highlighted my hair, or as it is called a "partial foil" and i actually like it. it is different and funky and it was time for a change. i just hope zach likes having a blonde girlfriend now...

There's no place like home...

i am finally home from italy, and after wanting to come home so bad, i have found myself wishing i was back in italy. ironic isn't it? italy was a blast to say the least and i had the time of my life, but here are the things i am thankful for since being home...

1. Clean Clothes (most importantly, having a dryer)
2. American food (give me some Dr. Pepper and a burger and fries)
3. American language (people actually understand what i am saying!)
4. Dollars (instead of Euros)
5. Walking outside and not having it smell like crap (or seeing dog poop on the sidewalks everywhere... EWWW)
6. Being able to drive (and driving between the lines and at the speed limit)
7. Sleeping in my own bed
8. Cooler weather (compared to 95 degrees and 100% humidity)
9. Being in the same time zone as my family and friends (and of course Zach) ;)
10. Not having to travel all the time (no more trains or public transportation!)
11. No more bug bites!

Things i miss from italy...
1. one word... GELATO
2. being able to walk everywhere
3. the buildings and architecture
4. Cappucino for 1 Euro
5. Seing the sights and experiencing the different culture
